
JULY 2011 - Simon's new single 'If You Go' has been added to BBC Radio 2's playlist, and is receiving national airplay in the UK.
JULY 2011 - Simon recently finished a successful 3 months on the road opening for Emmylou Harris, The Secret Sisters, The Webb Sisters, and Raul Malo. He also played several solo shows including the famed Glastonbury Festival.
Still very new to the international music scene, Simon has received
recognition equal to a seasoned veteran. The London Times says,
”Lynge's pure, warm voice was at its best on the beautiful, Beatlesy
'Love Comes Back to You' and his forthcoming first UK single,
'Infinitely You'. ... With luck, Lynge could be this year's José
González.”
SIMON LYNGE WRAPS UP SPECTACULAR YEAR WITH RADIO SPECIAL
The year of 2010 has been a whirl wind of a year for Simon Lynge. He
has seen the release of his debut album 'The Future' receive critical
acclaim, going straight to number #1 in the Amazon Rock Charts. 'The
Future' also charted at #4 in the Amazon Chart and number 14 in the
iTunes chart.
The German Radio Station MDR Figaro, who recently chose “The Future”
as their album of the week has invited Lynge to perform a live two
hour concert in Leipzig on St Nicholas day 6th December 2010. Prior
to the concert, the station will be running a week long daily feature
on Lynge and his background.
Rolling Stone Germany ran a two page feature on Simon in their
September 2010 issue.
The singer's music has received interest and coverage on television
during the year. His song 'The Future' was featured on the Hotel
Arctic commercial which won Gold at the Annual Golden City Gate
Awards in Berlin. Lynge's songs have also featured on American TV
shows such as Lie to Me and the multi–award winning Brothers & Sisters
on ABC. The release of The Future in June also led to TV appearances
on BBC Breakfast and Sky News, where he made the
top story.
Lynge spent much of 2010 touring in Europe, where his shows
have had rave reviews. He played venues in the UK, including
supporting
Ingrid Michaelson on five dates finishing at Shepherds
Bush Empire. He was also special guest to
Chip Taylor throughout Scandinavia followed by dates with
Morcheeba
in other parts of Europe, including Germany, and Switzerland.
In July 2010 Lynge headlined a 25,000 large festival in Tivoli
Garden, Copenhagen Denmark.
